L'album d'esordio dei mitici Pink Floyd, concepito in buona parte dall'insana genialità dell'allora leader Syd Barrett, il cui ricordo e le cui influenze contamineranno in senso positivo le produzioni del gruppo anche dopo il suo forzato allontanamento dalla band per il degenerare, ormai irreversibile, della sua sanità psichica.

 

Atmosfere oniriche (Astronomy domine, Pow R. Toc H., fino alla visionaria Interstellar overdrive) si alternano a ballate rock dai testi naif (Matilda mother, The Gnome, Chapter 24, Bike) o dalle inquietanti sonorità (Lucifer Sam, Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk), in un mix di sensazioni che lascia intravedere l'immediata svolta psichedelica del gruppo, ancora non del tutto scevro dalle influenze del rock melodico sullo stile dei Beatles di metà anni '60. Influenze da cui si distaccheranno definitivamente con la pubblicazione dei successivi album quali A saucerful of secrets Ummagumma e, ovviamente, il capolavoro per eccellenza, Dark side of the moon.

E bravo Carlito....considerata la tua età, ti fa molto onore possedere questo tipo di cultura musicale. Più ci si allontana (cronologicamente) da quei fenomeni più serve curiosità e voglia di ricerca per ascoltarli, capirli, amarli.......e soprattutto comprendere che non è nostalgia fine a se stessa dire che non si ripeteranno certe alchimie chissà per quanti anni.

Comunque, per quanto mi riguarda, da quando ho conosciuto i Pink Floyd tutto quello che ascolto oggigiorno, di moderno, mi passa via tra le orecchie senza lasciare traccia alcuna (a parte rare eccezioni), e questo è francamente triste... ----> DjLorenzo, ti devo pagare i diritti per questa

Li ho visti in concerto a Monza i Pink Floyd, in assoluto fra i miei preferiti ma considerando solo il periodo di Roger Waters.

 

Anche se devo dire che ZZ Top e Rage Against The Machine non sono stati male. Penosi gli Iron Maiden, così così i System of a Down.

Pochi minuti fa ho visto un vecchio sondaggio sui Pink Floyd che m'ero perso e ho detto la mia sulla loro migliore canzone...

La cosa m'ha stuzzicato e me so' messo a cercà topic su questi mostri....

Pensare che i ragazzi di oggi sentono la peggio merda e non sanno manco chi cazzo fossero i Pink Floyd me fa sta male...

Comunque, "The Piper..." compie proprio quest'anno 40 anni!!!!. Se qualche ragazzino de 15 anni lo ascoltasse adesso, senza saperne niente, direbbe che è roba rivoluzionaria....Pensate..1967....

Un pensiero al mitico Syd, che s'è magnato talmente tanto LSD da annà fori de capoccia e poi morire l'anno scorso, a 60 anni....se vedete le ultime foto del genio pare de guardà uno del Tiffany

Tra pochi mesi sarà il quarantennale di "A saucerful of secrets", secondo album dei Floyd. Il primo senza Barrett, che era ormai pippato definitivamente...

Un album al livello del primo, a mio parere. In questi giorni l'ho riascoltato varie volte ed è meraviglioso.

"Let there be more light" , la title track, l'onirica "Set the controls...", la sognante "Remember a day".....che gruppo, ragazzi!.

Gira voce che magari nel 2008 fanno una reunion....Waters, che sfasciò il gruppo a causa della sua "dittatura", da almeno un anno ne invoca la riunificazione...che te cechi!!. Dopo che ha visto che gli altri sono andati avanti senza di lui mò vole fà l'inversione pure lui...Gilmour giustamente non ci sta...Però per chi ama alla follia i Pink Floyd rivederli insieme dopo tanti anni sarebbe stupendo...andrei a vederli ovunque.

Fossi in loro, a sessantanni suonati, farei un ultimo, grandioso, album. Che rivoluzioni di nuovo la musica per i prossimi 20 anni e poi un solo concerto, "biblico", tipo da 2 milioni di persone che ipnotizzate ascoltano gli dei.....

Live at Pompeii è onirico. Un vortice psichedelico. Soltanto l'idea di girare lì è stata geniale...Waters che picchia sul gong come un pazzo è una scena memorabile...Se non sbaglio furono i primi anche ad usare la macchina da presa su un binario (tipo quelli della ferrovia), per simulare un effetto "circolare" nelle riprese....E' TANTA TANTA ROBA...
